St Kentigern (Mungo)

Born Culross, Fife, Scotland, in the 6th century. Was a priest in Clyde
who built a church on a spot he called “Glasgu” meaning beloved green
place .. Now called Glasgow , and the Cathedral stands on this spot. He
worked in Wales as Missionary with St. David until he returned to
Glasgow and became Bishop in year 581. With St. Columba they built a
large community of faithful, renowned for their prayerful lifestyle. He
died in year 612.
